The NAACP Awards is the Oscars for African-Americans in the entertainment world. The award show also give recognition for African-Americans who are contributing and making a difference in their communities.
I do feel Hally Berry's sexy printed Emilio Pucci dress was a little inappropriate for this event. If you can remember, she wore this stunning Marchesa dress to the 2011 Oscars and I just thought she could had worn another extraordinary gown to this event.
Don't get me wrong, I love her sexy printed Emilio Pucci dress but just not for this event.
Again, I am a little underwhelm with Kerry Washington. I just feel she didn't make a great effort for this event.
Even though she looks great in this ivory bold shoulders Zac Posen dress, It's just not a wow factor!
She completed her look with soft curls and neutral make-up.
Vanessa Williams picked up an award for best actress for her role as "Renee Filmore" on "Desperate Housewives".
The actress looks like pure sunshine in her yellow ruffled strapless dress. My only concern is the color is just too close to her skin-tone.
Her hair is a little too messy for my taste.
Who would had thought that actress Angell Conwell(Young & The Restless) would be the best dressed at this event.
She looks amazing in her metallic ombre draped open back dress.
I do however have to address her atrocious jheri curl sitting on top of her head. With such a dramatic dress, she needs a simple elegant up-do.
Holly Robinson Peete and her daughter Ryan both looks amazing but what's up with the 1980 braces on Ryan's teeth? I am sure they make enough money to get invisible braces!
Anyway, Holly Robinson looks wonderful in her nude shimmering dress. The color is magical against her skin.
Essence Atkins looks like a goddess in her liquid sparkly Jean Fares Couture ombre one-shoulder dress.
She completed her look with soft curls and neutral make-up.
Sparkle was definitely the trend on the red carpet tonight. Niecy Nash looks sensational in her gunmetal sequined off-the-shoulder dress.
I am living for her ghetto fabulous up-do!
Anika Noni Rose also wore delicious sparkle tonight. Her plum Ina Soltani sequined dress is a tad bit tight especially around the tummy area. One size up would had been perfect.
The actress needs some blot powder because her face is a bit shiny!
Tatyani Ali looks marvelous in her ivory applique Oliver Tolentino dress.
She completed her look with a soft up-do and gorgeous red lips.
Amber Riley proves she is the plus size diva in this amazing navy bustier Jennifer Salzman peplum dress.
I am not crazy about her stiff weave nor her necklace, but she still looks great.
Wow! This has to be the most tackiest gaudy dress I have ever seen. Shaun Robinson can't be serious in this hideous mess.
It's not anything good I can say about this dress. It's not fashion forward nor on trend.

I am not crazy about her beauty pageant dress but than again, unfortunately top designers are not knocking down African-American doors to wear their latest collection. I feel that is such a discrimination because we can sell dresses just as well as our white counterparts.

A lot of these black folks dress up like jesus is coming to damn dinner for the damn oscars and aint nominated for A GOD DAMN thing...but get their own events and act like tis a neighborhood block party!
only comment i have is amber riley...it starts out as fun then gets boring...it should have been tight all the way to the knees and span out into a fish tale identical to the top portion and the dress would have been bad as hell.
