Thisday African Rising founder Nduka Obaigbena wanted everyone to view Africa beyond the stereo-types they see in the media and to know that Africa is full of intelligent, beautiful and creative people. The wonderful event was featured in Washington D.C. showcasing leading African-Americans designers and supermodels. The Nigerian designers Fati Mohammed Asibelua "Momo" and Deloa Sagoe garments were innovative and stunning! I would wear every piece in their collections. My favorite models such as Liya Kebede, Oluchi and Alek Wek modeled in the fashion show and my baby Tyson Beckford was looking scrumptious as usual. J-zay and John Legend were also among the A-list performers for this auspicious event. I am a Liberian and I am extremely proud to see my fellow Africans represent Africa in a positive way!

2008 Teen Choice Awards

Tia Mowry looks sensational in this yellow and gray striped dress!



At first I thought this look was too casual for the red carpet then I took another look and realize this look is perfect for this event. Jordin Sparks looks funky casual chic!

Leighton Meester looks great in this emerald Lanvin draped dress but this is the Teen Awards, one does not have to bust out the couture!

Scarlett Johansson looks wonderful in this peach embellished Matthew Williamson dress but the gold balls necklace is totally unnecssary!

I absolutely love this pink and fuchsia printed maxi dress on Hayden Panettiere. It is beyond breezy and gorgeous!

This is a classic case of maxi dress gone wrong! I love this Etro printed dress but not on Fergie. The fit is two sizes too big and her hair is a hot bohemian mess!

Olivia Wilde looks fabulous in this white drape ruffled Lanvin dress!

Miley Cyrus and Rihanna has to be the most over exposed celebrity right now. The teenage star looks cute in this metallic Mochino Cheap & Cheap dress paired with camel slough boots. Only a teenager can get away with this look!

Blake Lively looks great in this purple Tadashi Shoji asymmetircal dress!

Was Kim Kardashian filming for the Living Dead horror movie? Her make-up is horrendous! Will someone drag her to the Nars or Lancome make-up counter for her correct shade of face powder!

Lil Momma is so pretty that's why it's a shame she has to result to costumes to get attention!

Trey, Will and Jaden Smith all look so handsome. I may have to pull a Tameka Foster(Usher's wife) and start stalking Trey Smith, he is eighteen by now, right?

Sanaa Lathan and Gabrielle Union look fabulous as always even though I thought Gabrielle could had made more effort on her ensemble. What's up with the plastic cup? I thought this suppose to be a top notch event? Only time one is serve beverage in a plastic cup at a soiree is when ghetto people who do not know how to behave in an elegant environment is present. I don't know which is worst the ghetto shoot out at the event or the plastic cups! Come on Jermaine Dupri, you are better than this.

Vivica Fox looks great in this zebra print one-shouldered dress. It is so redundant to comment on her face so I am not !

Lil Kim's Birthday Party

Angel Lola-Luv, Lil Kim and LisaRaye Misick- McCoy all look like desperate fools posing for the camera. Besides all the foolishness, I do like LisaRaye's metallic jeweled dress. Obviously there were not any A-listers at this event and Lil Kim looks like a tranny mess as usually!

Best Diva Of The Week: Solange Knowles

I thought I would never utter these words but Solange Knowles is my best diva of the week. She looks sensational in this burnt orange ruffled dress paired with her cobalt Christian Louboutin shoes and fabulous Fendi tote bag. She finally took some of that weave out of her head! I guess being in London does wonders for her.
