Flirty and girly are two words to describe Derek Lam's garments. The former Michael Kors Vice President of Designs incorporated Kors clean crisp silhouettes. The designer is also the Creative Director for Tod's ready-to-wear and accessories.
Celebrities are rocking his amazing pieces on the red carpet more and more. From his feminine dresses adorned with bows, prints and feathers to his more edgy sequins and metallic pieces.
I had the pleasure of meeting the young hip designer at Helen Yi boutique in 2006 for his trunk show. She was one of the first boutiques in Chicago to carrying his fabulous line. We actually have a waiting list of customers whenever we get his pieces in my store but of course I get the first dibs!
